The clock on my system is running slow and I can't find the culprit
It works fine in BIOS and then for the first few seconds (or maybe minutes) after the system starts up. It's weird to watch, the seconds tick by correctly and then they start to go erratically, sometime fast and sometimes slow. It ends up being about 45 minutes off after about 12 hours. It's a media center recording TV, so time is pretty critical. I've spent some time troubleshooting it, but I can't seem to find the problem. I've unchecked all non-microsoft services and all of the startup items in msconfig and I still have the problem. To resolve the issue I've had it update the clock every two minutes (not ideal, but not a big problem I guess).
Short of a reinstall, is there anything to try?
Thanks in advance.
Software installed (not much, I don't use it like a normal computer):
Windows 7 64 (issue happened with Vista, did an upgrade rather than erase and problem persisted)
AnyDVD
MyMovies
SimplifyMedia
iTunes
Firefox
nvidia drivers for chipset and video card (hybrid power running)
ati driver for tv wonder (no other software, using MC)
Hardware:
Phenom II X4 810
ASUS nforce 750a (forgot the model #)
geforce 9800GTX
4x1GB RAM (only DDR2-533, stuff I had laying around when I built it, could this cause issue?)
ATI TV Wonder 650 Pro
Samsung DVD-RW
WD 320GB HDD
WD 1TB HDD
