windows clock not working

the clock display in the windows task bar seems not working. after setting the times and dates, i check back later and it's seems the clock is not working at all.

Have you checked your bios to make sure it's keeping time(check for dying cmos battery), are you overclocking your system in any way form or fasion (your crystal timing chip may not be taking the strain)?

Is it going fast or is it slowing down? Do you have the right region set? Checking the CMOS battery and BIOs would also be a good step to take.

Also, how long has it been since you rebooted? I believe the Windows clock only synchronizes with the BIOS clock on bootup. If it's been awhile, it may have lost track of itself...

Have my XP system set up to perform network time sync every day. My clock is always within a second or two (verified against GPS time code generator). I know this is no help for those without DSL/Cable or windows XP, but I thought I would throw is out there anyway.

Is there a way to have Windows XP time sync more than once a week? About this network time sync, do I need to be part of a domain to do it?
