Windows clock not displaying correct time?

As daylight savings came up a week or so ago, I expected my computer to adjust its own clock as usual. I woke up the next morning to find that it had not, and I had to set it manually. Well I woke up this morning and my computer had set itself back to the time it was before daylight savings.

What's going on? I've ran virus checks and spyware checks and I'm clean.

1) Start \ Control Panel \ Date & Time \ Internet Time =synchronize with a SNTP time server.
If you're in California here are a few:
montpelier.caltech.edu
tock.usnogps.navy.mil
ntp-2.mcs.anl.gov
ntp.nasa.gov
time.ucla.edu

If you're elsewhere, Google SNTP time servers physically near you.

2) CMOS button batter may need replacing. It'll cost you aboput 2 bucks. Just pop out the old, in with the new.

3) A good time synchronizer in case your built-in Windows one doesn't work right:

On the time zone tab check the box for Automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes

Go to Event Viewer and look under the "system" log. Time sync issues are reported there.

I recommend chaning the "internet time" server to time.nist.gov. Double click the clock, click on INTERNET TIME to change it. This is also where you select your time zone.
