Windows Booting Problem

Hey, my computer was working fine yesterday before I moved it to a different location. Now when I plug it in it boots, runs through BIOs and all that good stuff, but right before Windows loads and opens the login screen the display turns off. I tried switching monitors with the same result. Could somebody please help me? Thanks!

Can you boot up in safe mode (Pressing "F8" on bootup)?
Maybe bad ram chip? Take all but one out and test with others if it still occurs.
Do you have a spare power supply that you could swap out?

No luck on the RAM swapping.. 🙁 Is it possible that I may have shorted the video card when moving my computer ?

I don't believe so, or else safe mode wouldn't have worked for you.

It sounds more like you have some corrupted windows files since you can start in safe mode. I would suggest starting the pc with your Windows cd in the drive as if you are going to reformat, but run the Repair Console instead. Maybe the master boot record needs to be fixed. To see if that is it, when the console loads up, type "FixMBR" without the quotes.

Start in safe mode. Open Explorer. right Click on C: drive. Click on Properties, then to the Tools Tab, select Check Now under Error Checking. That will run a chkdsk at the next start up.

Hmm...Chkdsk didn't seem to do anything it ran for about 5 seconds then shut off, but instead of running in Safemode I booted under the "Last known working configuration" option and now evertyhing seems to be working fine. I'll probably repair Windows once I find my Windows CD just in case. Thanks for all the help!
