so, why is it that the usb keyboard works for the bios but not for windows?

i have the opposite problem...

My MX Duo works fine in windows, but not in the BIOS.

If you had linux running on that keyboard.It would work in botht the bios and Windows and it would give you a bj.

try removing the usb drivers and let windows find usb....

then plug in the keyboard to usb to see if it picks it up

I'm sorry, but the BJ part is a total lie. Please stop spreading lies about Linux giving BJ's. I have yet to receive one.

no no... i mean when you're first installing windows. works for bios, does not work for windows until usb drivers are installed. if the bios can pick up a keyboard signal over usb, windows should be able to, imho


of course, if i were designing a hardware/operating system combination from the ground up each device would have some drivers built into it on some flash ram that the OS could load, and it would contain the address of the place to find the latest drivers on the internet.

That always works fine for me too, given that I set the BIOS to control the USB keyboard, not to leave it to the OS.

My usb media center remote won't work anywhere.
