i just plugged in one of the plextors i got from bby a month or so ago and my k7s5a/w2k system asks for a driver to install the drive...

i did the usual point to system; system32; winnt; etc... and it can't find anything that sates it's need...

am i just missing something dumb? i even tried installing the sis ide driver, to no avail...

can't seem to find anything googling around... this can't be some rare and amain occurance... but it's te first time i've run into it...

Uhm...you don't need a driver for CD drives. It should just use the standard cdrom.sys file. Writers need ASPI drivers but they are pretty standard too. If for some reason you don't have ASPI drivers, simply installing the burning software that came with it should remedy that.
