windows... and unix... at the same time?

k maybe a completely stupid question... but i have seen large towers that had the windows/mac compatibility at the same time... would it be possible to build a computer with unix and windows os on it? if so how hard would it be to do this?

It would be easy. Just install unix on one HD and windows on the other and use some kind of boot loader that would allow you to load either os when you start your computer. A program like system commander 2000 works great.

alright so two hard drives.... is it possible to hook two hard drives up to one os?.... i appoligize for my comp. ignorance

You don't even need two hard drives. Just divide one hard drive into partitions and install windows on one partitiona and unix/linux on the other partition. Use a bootloader to choose between the two at startup. Hope that helps, you can find lots of tutorials on the web about installing linux and windows.

If you install another hard drive windows will recognize it automatically. Just make sure to set the master/slave jumpers and tell the bios to recognize that hard drive.
