Windows and Bootcamp stability issues

About a month ago I upgraded from Tiger to Leopard, courtesy of my university. I used Bootcamp and my OEM copy of XP Home w/ SP2 to create a dual-boot. The installation didn't work the first time because I didn't reformat the soon-to-be-Windows partition to NTFS. I tried the installation a second time and it worked fine.

The problems started after I activated Windows and tried to restart. When I restarted, Windows would freeze while booting up at the black Windows screen. I booted into OSX and tried to restart from there, but every single time that I tried to boot into Windows the same thing would happen.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

I've had similar hiccups before but it usually seems like if I let it go it will eventually work itself out.

Do you just assume it's frozen after about 10 seconds or so, or do you let it sit for a bit?

Have you tried something as simple as safe mode?

I've gone the "let it run" route before. I've let it sit for a good 10 minutes and still nothing.

I've also tried safe mode. The problem still occurs.

Yea, I've never had that issue. Maybe reinstall, but don't activate. Just restart a couple times and do just typical tasks and see if the same problems occur. If they don't, then try to activate. If the problems then begin again, then it's an issue with the activation somewhere.

Alright, I'm going to try reinstalling Windows again and see if that fixes it. Thanks for the advice.
