ok i lost my xp home disk. so i borrowed from my friend. i have my own key and reinstaled it. but it keeps popping up that 30 days blah blah blah. i click on activate and it says its already active???? i have not even put in the key yet....
 
Is the disk you borrowed a legal disk, or may it have some crack already applied? I've never heard of this problem before, so thats my only guess. I read you post as meaning that you used your CDkey, so it should work like normal as long as it was the same version of XP.
