Windows Activation Dilemma

Ok, so I went to boot my pc into windows for the first time in about 2 weeks (go SuSE!) and gives me the message "You must activate windows before you can log on"...no biggie, i click ok and the activation window comes up and says "Your copy of windows is already activated", yet it still will not let me boot into windows.

Has anyone seen this before/know how to fix it? Is there a file or reg key or something i can edit to fix this?

Thanks

you just need to contact Microsoft via phone and have it activated...nothing more, it's a pretty common problem....I've even had brand new OEM WinXP SP2's that have not passed Internt Activation.

OMG I have this same problem!!! I installed Windows (my real CD key that came with the laptop, but I used a different disc) through VMware and I thought maybe it was the program's fault.

I activated on BOTH the internet, AND telephone, but I'm stuck in the same loop yo uare in. When I click on my username it says "You need to activate before you can use" and then it goes to the activation window where it says "You already activated!".

I called the Activation line and spoke to someone in India and they gave me a some number for customer support. I called and it costs money 🙁 They also said "pick three if you copy came with your PC" so I did just that but then it just gave me a list of phone numbers =_+

Stumps, I think you are missing on what he is saying....he (and I) get caught in an activation loop where it tells us we have to activate, but each time the activation window pops open it tells us we already activated...

Why not try a SYSTEM RESTORE from Safe Mode boot and go back to a date when it worked - like - yesterday?
