Windows 98se > Re-Intallation

Hey all.....can any one out there guide me through step by step what would be involved in removing an existing installation of Win98se then re-intalling a fresh one from scratch.......any help would be much appreciated, I want to make sure I don't miss anything important etc > alternatively, if someone could direct me to an online guide or something similar that would be cool also *smiling politely*

.........also, I wanted to get an idea as to what each of you guys set your swap file size too, I have been given sooo many 'exact' figures that are all suppossed to correct, but all differ in size > Is there a 'perfect' generic setting that should be used ?????? 😕

You should be able to search the forums for countless discussions of this topic.. but if not...

You'll first need to make sure you have a Windows 98 boot disk, downloading one from Bootdisk.com is easy enough, then unzip it and put it on a disc. Once you have that done make sure you also have your Win98 CD and CD-Key. Now that you have what you need you can reinstall from scratch. Boot to the DOS prompt and simply format c:\ (or whichever drive contains Windows). Once format is done you have a blank HD with nothing remaing. Now you'll need to restart your machine with the CD and bootdisk in, the computer should boot to the disk and install the CD-ROM drivers, you'll probably have to reboot again. You should get to a boot loader that asks if you'd like to boot from the hard disk or CD, choose CD and the Windows setup will begin. From there it's step by step.
