I just re-installed windows 98 se, and want to know how I can get it to see the programs I already have installed on my other partition. I know I could just re-install them, but that would take a really long time...So if there is an easy way I am all ears.

Thanks

There's a method of editing the registry that I heard of.
However, I'm not too sure of the procedures and it'll be better to wait till someone who is more familiar with this comes along.

yes, but I cant get them to show up on my start menu.... Unless i create a short cut dirctly to them. But even that doesnt work on all programs

<< Can't you just find the exe of the installed programs and run them? >>

Nope, that wouldn't do.
Some programs insert strings into the registry and these strings are required for the program to run.

The only way would be to reinstall your programs or wait until someone else who knows about the registry editing part comes along.

Nothing really. Install all the Apps and stuff again then make an image with Nortons Ghost. Next time you want to do a fresh installation, just restore from an image file.

Bliss.
