I recently installed a new modem and old Compaq 520 Crt monitor for a older MSI Turbo2 mobo with a fresh install of Win98se.
Now, there is a "required DLL. file" error message everytime win98se boots up : C:\windows.000\system\crtdll.dll was not found.

I ran that lame Scandisk program both ways with error correction checked and that din't indicate anything.
How can this be repaired?

Just guessing here (serves as a bump :)), but I'd remove the modem (pull it out and go to "add/remove programs" too).

You don't mention it, but maybe get the updates fro 98se if haven't already. Then look for driver install data on the modem disk. In the past, I have similar such errors pop-up when installing modems/NICs. Cured it by looking at the readme file on the disk and following those instructions.

Hope that helps, but maybe thugsrook or niall will drop by. They seem to know a bunch about 98se.

Good luck and have a nice weekend.
