Windows 98 Startup Problem

hey

i was wondering if anybody could help me...... my computer will not boot into windows 98 when i have a cd-rom in the drive.... the green screen pops up like its loading then it just sits there....... i have the cd-rom disabled as a boot drive in my bios, tyhinking that might solve it, but to no prevail..... i just went back to windows 98 after having a windows 2000 and linux dual boot.........
