Windows 98 SE question

I know this sounds dumb but, How do I get my windows to open up the file windows and sort the files by type by default? Is it impossible?Do I have to select it from the dropdown everytime? It would be very nice because I work in just a certain type of file all the time and want to have them in the pane by default, instead of alphabetically.Any help will be apreciated.

no such thing as a dumb question.

actually, pull down tools menu then folder options, then view, then you can set all folders like the current one, assuming you have the currently open folder sorted the way you like.

I quite agree with the answer

<<no such thing as a dumb question>>
there is only a dumb answer

No this does not work.I sorted the files as I wanted, selected folder options made all folders like this one, hit apply, and the folders are sorted in alphabetic order just like before.I think this particular problem is unsolvable, but I appreciate the response, thanks.
