ok here is the problem. if i shut down my computer completely and then try and turn it back on windows always locks up before it loads my desktop. all i see is a black screen and my pointer (hourglass) and it is locked up to. to solve this problem i have to boot in safe mode and go to MY COMPUTER/PROPERTIES/PERFORMANCE/ and then go to the advance settings graphics and turn off all graphics acceleration. then reboot. then go back turn the graphics settings back to full acceleration , reboot and i can start up normally.

i have a Diamond stealth III S540 Extreme video card
AMD 750 athlon (slot A) on a gigabyte GA7-IXE motherboard

ive got the newest bios, motherboard drivers, and videocard drivers

does anybody have any ideason what is going on here?

Thanks
