Windows 98 SE And Desktop Pictures

How do I enable desktop pictures without turning on "enable pictures" in Internet Explorer? If I turn off pictures I get that little not loaded image square in the corner of my desktop.

I have a 56K modem and I always turn off images when I surf to save bandwidth. It's really annoying having to switch images on/off all the time.

Don't use the active desktop. Just have the background be some image on your HD and it should work fine.

Thanks. Now I know why it didn't work before: it must be a BMP file. If it isn't you get the prompt to enable active desktop.
