Windows 98 password

I know this is a stupid question. I feel like an idiot for asking it, but is there any way to remove the windows password that first pops up when windows 98 starts up? Other than restoring the operating system, that is? Help please.

Right-click on Network Neighborhood and select Properties. Set primary network logon to "Windows logon". Click on Start->Find->type in "*.pwl" and delete any files that show up. Reboot. There will be a pop-up logon screen asking for a password. Just hit enter. You shouldn't see the pop-up screen next time you reboot.
