Windows 98, Invalid System Disk error.

I hope someone can help me without having to reinstall Win98.

I am currently running a Win98/Win2000 Dual boot, seperate drives. I recently installed Norton Utilites on Win98 and optimised the drive using Speedisk. Now when I boot, I get the Dual boot menu, but after selecting Win98 I get the Invalid System Disk error.

Is there a way to recover the boot record on the Win98 drive (make it boot), without losing the Dual boot menu. I have tried Fdisk /mbr, no luck.

I think I read somewhere about typing SYS C: at the DOS prompt, but I don't want to try it incase it erases the Boot menu, which could mean a reinstall of Windows 2000.

Problem Solved...🙂

Took less than 10 mins and I did not have to reinstall any OS. Norton Utilities is now Uninstalled from Win98.
