I am trying to install Windows 98, but when I insert the Windows 98 Startup Disk, I get a Disk I/O Error. I have created fresh Windows 98 Startup Disks, but each time I get that same Disk I/O Error. I am using brand new formatted floppy disks. Please advise!

Thanks,
Jon

have you looked in your bios to make sure your floppy is set to boot before your hard drive? can you see the floppy drive trying to access the disk?

can you just boot from the 98 cd-rom and install that way?

Thanks for your help guys. . .I'm thinking that there is something wrong with my floppy drive, because after disconnecting all but the minimum components, and restaring my computer for about an hour, it finally worked. It just suddenly worked with the same Windows Startup disk that I had been using the whole time.

Thanks for your inputs!
