Windows 98 boot disk problem.

i got a 98SE boot disk from bootdisk.com. Whenever I try to boot with CD-ROM support I get a message saying "Scanning PCI BUS using Mechanism #2" and the computer hangs there. Whats the deal?

Do you have a SATA CDROM? DOS drivers might not work for that unless the BIOS has the SATA set to impersonate a PATA drive.

Do bootable CDs (like XP, Acronis image or part expert) boot OK with this drive?

I have SATA ports, but no SATA drives. would it still be a problem?
