Windows 98/2000 dual boot uninstall question

I've been running windows 98 and 2000 under dual boot, and have been having a few problems with windows 2000 and direct x, and other problems with windows 98 that have rendered both of them almost useless for gaming.

Q.> I was wondering what is the easiest way to remove both and reinstall a single boot of Windows 2000 (I think the windows 2000 problem was because of a faulty install).

I love windows 2000 except for the problems with all versions of direct x being incompatible with it, and some problems with browsing. It's stability is impressive, and very quick.

Boot from a Win98 boot disk and run fdisk.
Delete all logical drives and partitions on your hard drive.
Make sure your BIOS is set to boot from CD-ROM.
Boot from your Win2k CD and install.
You should be able to partition your hard drive and format as FAT32 or NTFS, whichever you prefer, from within Win2k setup.

Of course, make sure you've backed up all your stuff, first. 🙂
