Did a search and didn't find anything, so I thought I'l post it. Today is the 10th Aniversary of Windows 95. I still can't beleive that the whole operating system could fit on a few floppy disks, or that Hard drives at that time were around 1-2 Gigs. I know we bash Microsoft, but Windows 95 was awesome, at least for me because it was the first operating system on a personal computer that I owned.

on "a few floppy disks"? more like 35 or 40. I've still got a copy of 95 on floppy packed away in a closet somewhere and if I remember right the number of disks pretty much fill up a shoe-box.. gee, what do ya think the chances are that ALL of 'em are still good? :p

My 95 was about 12 or 13 disks then there were a half dozen add on disks which were down loadable.

Some people must have gotten a "special" version.

98, on the other hand was 3 dozen floppies.

I am pretty sure that's just the upgrade. I had Win 3.1 on floppies that I installed and then installed the 95 upgrade from floppies and it was about 12 or 13.

OK.

I don't feel like climbing up in the attic to look at them.

win 95 was innovative at the time....but is just BSOD'd too much for my liking!!!

I remember the days of the Commodore Amiga......monkey island was 26 disks.....they had to be swapped every few minutes!
