Windows 95 uninstalled program, now can only boot into Safe mode

My buddy who is out of state and knows NOTHING about computers messed up his Win95 box. He just got the computer and wanted to delete some old programs on it that the previous owner installed. One was Adobe Type Manager. He uninstalled it from the Unin/Inst control panel and now can only boot into safe mode. There is a quick flash of a message about ATMsys.drv How do you fix this without reinstalling windows or ATM. Do all I need to do is edit the win.ini file to clear out the referrances to this application??
