Windows 95 not picking up RAM

My BIOS says 78,08kb of RAM is ok, but when I go under System Properties in Windows it says I only have 8. Is there any way to tell Windows that I have 78mb of RAM without formatting?

Thanks

its probably just some sort of weird error, cause if windows was only using 8meg of ram it would literally get up and walk away from your computer in disgust. 🙂 I'm not even confindant winblows would boot with that little ram.

ok you have mulipy dimms i assume, pull one out and see if it is detected correctly, and then try the other on its own. you may need to changce the slots the dimms are in.

Tell me how do you get a total of 78MB of RAM???

Sometimes if Windows does not seem to tell you the correct amount of memory, you may have taken it up with real device drivers. Go to config.sys and rem everything out.
