Windows 8's effect on builds?

Hi guys,

I'm planning on a new mid range (~$1000) build sometime between thanksgiving and christmas. Now I haven't been following Windows 8 news too closely, but with it just around the corner, I'm wondering what effect (if any) it will have on upcoming builds?

From what I can tell, there doesn't seem to be much in terms of drastic new hardware requirements, so I'm more worried about incompatible hardware / drivers. I would hate to have a repeat of Vista where I had to replace quite a few components.

Thanks.

Windows 8 has the same driver architecture as Windows 7 and Vista so its unlikely to be the same problem. Windows Vista drivers should work in W8 unless the manufacturer did something very wrong.

Windows 8 is fundamentally the same kernel as Windows Vista and Windows 7 with a jacked-up UI thrown on top. Like Bright Candle said, expect all Windows 7 drivers to "just work" unless the author went out of their way to do something horrible.
