Windows 8: which version is the "retail" version?

I'm looking to buy Windows 8 pro 64bit (full, not upgrade). I'm looking to buy the retail equivalent, that way I'm not tied down to a particular motherboard. Is this even possible?

You would have to get the oem system builder version. there is new licensing terms in it for personal use licensing, in it that allows you to move it to new machines and it is not tied down.
