A word of advice: edit your thread title so people might respond to this thread. Right now you ask "Windows 8 vs Widowows 8 in battlefield 4" but I think you mean "Windows 8 vs Windows 8.1 in battlefield 4"

Also, 1000hz mice can usually be run at 500hz as well. It doesn't matter if the lag is 1ms or 2ms, you still hit or miss the same.

If there's a difference in framerate, it's going to be so small you're wasting time asking :D.

The mouse issue is freezes and stutter.

For the OP, I doubt there is any difference as such. But since the WIndows 8.1 upgarde is free, I see no reason not to. Specially when Windows 8 already got an end date over it. Unlike Windows 7 and 8.1.

I thought Johan Andersson said there were some DX11.2 optimizations that are 8.1 only but can't recall the article for sure. Ask him on twitter @repi he will probably answer. he is on twitter 24/7

EDIT - i think only AMD cards support 8.1 so after checking the sig of OP that may not help you in your case.

It's only AMD on the Dx 11.2.

AMD, nVidia, Intel all supports Windows 8.1....

Did you forget the above? ;)

Battlefield 4 contains DX11.1 support, not DX11.2. Kepler supports all gaming related features of DX11.1, and partially supports DX11.2..

It runs a heckuva lot better than Windows 7, that is for sure. I decided to get it despite my previous comments and after fixing the gui I could not be more pleased.

Although performance wasn't bad on 7, I did get hiccups/stuttering from time to time. Now on 8.1 that is completely gone.

I actually went from 8.1 back to 8.0. I think I might wait until 8.2 because it seems that I have some serious stuttering issues in 8.1. I actually think BF4 feels smoother in 8.0. But I am sure it's dependent on the machine.

bf4 benefits from dx11.1, so windows 8 will be faster than windows 7.
the benefits are from software only, you don't need dx11.1 hardware. So even the radeon 5000 series and fermi cards should benefit afaik.

as for windows 8.1, why not.

Just because it might support some DX11.1 visual features. It doesnt make it faster.
