Windows 8 Media Center cd key question

I bought W8 Pro and I have a code for a free MC. The promotion was good until January, will the key still be valid after then if i have not installed it yet?

It will keep for some time but I think it has an expiration date. According to Radeon962 in this thread that date is Feb 1 2013. Some research might be needed to verify that though. I never took the time to.

EDIT:I just sifted through my trash bin and it looks like Radeon962 was right. "This promotion ends on January 31, 2013; your product key must be activated no later than February 1, 2013." Copy and paste from the fine print in the email.

I just reinstalled windows 8 pro on my blank new 256 gb SSD. This version was previously installed and activated on my previous 128gb SSD. So was windows media center. The key for windows media center still worked when I put it in to get it installed. I dont have a tv tuner card so I don't use it really.
