Windows 8 in a VDI environment - problem?

It seems like you need 3D hardware acceleration for the new Metro interface to be smooth. Microsoft list a DirectX 9 or above graphics card. Won't this be a problem if you're running it in a VDI environment where you don't have that acceleration?

It works fine without acceleration. Windows 8 / 2012 run in non-accelerated virtual machines fine.
