Z77 MB with the latest Realtek audio drivers, so far it's happened on both games I've alt tabbed out of. Batman Arkham City & Alan Wake. Both times when I exited out I launched other programs that have audio. I don't ever remember this happening in Windows 7, was wondering if anyone here with a z77 MB can try this and tell me what happens?

Thanks

Something is up with audio in Win8. When I plug in my phone to charge the volume for the whole system goes down by half - but none of the slider bars or any volume settings change at all.

Are you running sound through HDMI or audio jacks? Have you installed all the drivers for your z77 board from the mfg website?

I never have this problem running HDMI sound between 2 devices, a headset and my TV. I alt-tab and windows key out of my games all the time and they don't do this at all...?

If i alt tab in BF3 in W8 the game will crash, so it's a strange issue. I've since just played in Windowed full screen mode.

Yes definitely have been seeing quite a few people having issues with gaming in particular in Windows 8; let alone many sound issues. Realtek seems to be a common factor with a lot of the issues I am seeing. Hopefully they will roll out a nice round of fresh drivers soon for those having problems.

Maybe so, I just run the sound through the HDMI coming from my gtx660. Never have any problems with any of my games. :\
