Windows 8 for gaming?

We all agree Win7 is a fine OS,however Win8 does have some advantages ie better battery life for laptop/notebook users, improved security, obviously tablet users will be fine with Win8,faster start up and shutdown, native USB 3.0 support,I could list more but you see my point.

You could argue companies like AMD/Nvidia will also start optimizing drivers for Win8,especially from next week when it gets officially released, longer life span as well then Win7.

But how many of these matter for gaming?

A handful of the Win8 features are nice to have, but are certainly not essential and questionably not worth the hassle of being on the cutting edge where all the problems happen.

I have already stated in OS forums that gamers got the short straw in Win8,we can only hope Microsoft throws us a bone or two down the road,it'll be interesting to see how well Win8 does in gaming with mature drivers.

Been using Win 8 off and on for quite a while. (Currently using it)

No problems with Steam or any of my games so far

Still not in love with Metro. I find its not productive on a desktop at all. Its like Microsoft is trying to combine Mobile and Desktop versions rather than creating separate versions.

If i was going for device OS, i would still go Android over win 8. That is after all what WIn 8 was made for in the first place. MS wanted a OS that would work on all systems.
