Windows 8 drivers -- Intel 4000 graphics

Greetings all. So I purchased an Acer 15.6" Laptop that is touchscreen and has Windows 8. So far love it. Now since it's new I decided to see what updated drivers might be available. I know it uses the Intel 4000 graphics chip with its Intel i3 CPU. When I check the graphics driver date/number it has NOTHING to do with what is the current one on the Intel site. In fact if run the Intel automated driver check up utility it says it's proprietary etc.

Now my question in regards to this is if I upgrade or simply grab the latest Intel 4000 GPU drivers, am I going to bork up the system? Are the current Acer driver specifically for the touchscreen? Or can I get the latest drivers and does that mean I should also install the latest Intel Chipset and AHCI and SATA drivers? Or again stay with the Acer ones?
On that note, would folks recommend I use that feature that Windows 8 has and RESTORE my system to a clean version of Windows 8 thus removing the 100's of preinstalled vendor Acer stuff or would that mess up my touchscreen?
