I installed on my HTPC with new SSD that I received for Christmas. Enjoying free OS for streaming video and music while playing with this new OS.

How long will this be supported?

The dev preview expires on 3/11/2012. The release candidate for Windows 7 was supported for a year, after a six month extension.

And the Win8 beta is expected by March, so it will replace the developer preview.

Windows 8 would have been great if

The license would also cover a touch-screen display ;-p

I would pretty much fully expect the beta to be what you see in the preview, whatever new features have been outlined publicly, and a few minor performance and stability improvements.
