windows 7starter edition question

Alot of netbooks have windows 7 starter edition on them. I know microsoft lifted the 3 app limit on it. What I am wondering about is does it support more than 1gb of ram? I go to Dell's webte and try and configure it wth 2gb of ram and it says windows 7 starter does not support more than 1gb
 
thatjust says what the maxspecs for netbooks are. it says max ram for xp is 1gb also, and i have 2gb in my dell mini. my question is will the starter edition recognize and use more than 1gb of ram?
 
The maximum spec for Starter is a limitation on the OEM. You can upgrade the memory and hard drive as much as you want. I do not know whether upgrading a CPU to dual core would work.
And of course you can connect as large a screen as you wish.
