There should be a petition created that we can send to Microsoft stating "if you paid for Vista...you will receive Windows 7 for free."

It would solve so many problems.
 
It will create many more by people trying to install W7 and not knowing how to do it right. An OEM PC with Vista works well more or less.
 
Exactly what problems do you think it would solve?

Microsoft has already announced that they have an upgrade program in place. Anyone that gets Vista after a certain date can upgrade to 7 for free. I think that them giving a free upgrade to anyone that has purchased Vista since it came out (Jan 07 I think) is a little extreme and not exactly in many company's style, Microsoft included.
 
Windows 7 is a warmed over Vista, maybe a little different but the underlying engine is so similar it cannot be much of a change. If you hate Vista you hate 7.
 
Windows Vista to Windows 7 step-up edition, anyone?

Just like 98 to 98SE.

That might be nice to see, from MS, but I'm not holding my breath.

After all, if they can [strikeout]extort[/strikeout] sell Windows 7 for an additional $300 to Vista owners, they will.

Lets also start a petition we can send to toyota for a new car every few years. The headliner is starting to sag a bit, and I'm sick and tired of changing my oil. Nevermind all the aftermarket crap I put into it that makes it run worse.

I paid for one of their cars once, so they should provide me with new ones forever. That would definitely solve so many problems on my end.

Windows 7 is fine and all, I still prefer Vista over it. What 'problems' would it solve? Vista is pretty mature already, and most people who run it have little or no problems.
