I have this odd problem with windows 7.
So I have disks for both win7 x64 ultimate and x86 (burned off my msdn developer account).
I have tried more than 1 motherboard for this (actually 3) and it doesnt work on any of them. All of them are AMD 785G boards with sb710 south bridge (2 ECS ones and a biostar) of that matters. I've tried IDE or ACHI mode, IDE , SATA or usb dvd drives to install.
Anyhow my SSD is a kingston SNV425s2 64gb. It can install ubuntu x86 or x64 10.4 fine. XP 32-bit installs fine. And windows 7 ultimate x86 is fine. But with 7 x64 it will go into setup and seem to work then in "unpacking files" always gets stuck at 94-96% and eventaully if you wait long enough says you can't reach the install media or something (which is odd sinec the dvd drive is still connected).
Now on a hunch I plugged in a normal hard drive (an old SATA 40GB western digital) and x64 installed on it fine.
Anyone have any problem similar to this? It seems like theres a lot of totally random problems with win7's installer when I was googling this issue.
