windows 7 x64 issues

When I try to boot from CD with the windows 7 x64 disk, when my screen says "press any key to boot from CD" it does nothing, then boots to my original OS (windows XP 32). I know this keyboard works. Am I just doing something wrong here? I can't run it from the desktop because its 64 bit and is not compatible.

If you have a USB keyboard make sure USB keyboard support is enabled in the BIOS.

I figured this out after not being able to switch between different OS' from the boot loader and going insane first, lol.

I agree with geoffry. It sounds like this is your problem. It's usually in your BIOS under one of the menus - probably at the bottom of screen.
