Windows 7 x64 CPU constant 25+%

I just got a new laptop with Windows 7 x64. My CPU Usage is constantly above 25%. I have Avast as my antivirus and basically nothing else on startup I have about 55 processes on startup. Why is this? Where are all these processes coming from?

After its start pull down the View menu click on Select Columns, and choose the type of info the you want to see.
