It worked fine earlier today, but then I switched my headset to another headset and now when I plug in the new one it acts like I didn't plug anything in. The headset works on my other computer fine. I tried plugging back in the old headset and it doesn't get recognized either. I updated to the newest realtek drivers just today so I know its not that. When I go to raise the volume it only has digital output and not speakers. I know the jack isn't broken it worked fine just before I put the new one in.

Sounds like you have done some pretty decent trouble shooting. Everything points to the jack being physically broken.

You could try booting up on a live/dvd type os to rule software out.

Well I have it working for the time being. For some reason it is acting like it's plugged into the front jack instead of the rear. And when I check the box to DISABLE the front jacks it really is ENABLING it. Not to mention a couple minutes ago it was spazzing out giving me pop up notifications telling me "a audio device was unplugged" so I clicked it and it was showing all of the plugs being plugged in and out at different times. 1st it would say blue was unplugged then black was plugged in and back and forth for like 5 minutes.

Well know they don't work again. the drivers are going absolutely crazy. In the middle of watching a video the audio will cut out and say that it has been unplugged. Then it will come back and the mic won't work. This is really getting frustrating. I reinstalled the drivers twice and still it messes up. Is there a known issue with Windows 7 and Realtek audio?
