Used Imageburn to create and ISO file from a genuine Windows 7 Pro DVD disk. I then tried to use the Windows 7 USB DVD Download tool to make a bootable USB Windows 7 installer but the M$ tool reports the ISO file invalid (or rather not a valid ISO).

Suggestions for getting me to where I am (DVD in hand) to where I want to be (USB installer for Windows 7)? I have not done in a while. Reason for doing this is Virtualbox doesn't install by optical.

Virtualbox should be able to install from optical or straight from the iso, could be that the DVD is not in a good condition and thous can not be read correctly.

To your question, partition your USB as primary and active and just copy/paste everything from the dvd to the usb,the tools don't do anything more than that.
