Windows 7 Upgrade Questions

Hello.

I have Windows Vista Home Premium. Does Vista support dx11? My video card does support dx11. If I buy a Windows 7 upgrade, will it install over Vista or do I use the upgrade to perform a clean install? Also, I have Windows XP on another pc. Same question. Does installing Windows 7 leave everything intact? Or do you need to use the upgrade for a clean install?

Both Vista and XP are oem versions of Windows. Can you install Windows 7 64 bit upgrade over 32 bit Vista or XP Home Premium without destroying all the software?

Most places will suggest a clean install.

Upgrading should be a straight forward process, but there's a possibility for problems down the road w\ certain things.

if going from 32-bit to 64bit will require a clean install. if going from 32-bit to 32-bit you can upgrade and it will keep everything.
