Windows 7 Ultimate - Downgrade to Pro?

what would be the point of doing that? Just curious, since I thought ultimate had all features including ability to join a domain.

I doubt there's any way to do that other than re-installing Windows and using a Win7 Professional License Key to Activate. And I don't think that MS will give you a Key. Some versions of Windows include Downgrade rights to a previous version of Windows, but not to a lower Edition (Ultimate to Professional).

As compare to Ultimate, Windows Pro

1. Does Not do BitLocker.

2. Can Not switch languages

3. Cost $20 less.

Which of these bothers you in Ultimate?

😎

Ultimate was installed on the PC without the right key and now it requires a valid Ultimate Key. I have a WIN7 Pro (64bit) license and was going to help out by downgrading this pc without re-installing.

The two reasons for downgrade is the cost of purchasing Ultimate again and not wanting to re-install OS/APPS/DRIVERS/ETC.

darn!!!
