Question Windows 7 to 10 upgrade issue with icons in windows explorer

Just upgraded from Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 10 Pro. Thumbnails in the left side of File Explorer have a "block" missing from them. They are displayed correctly in the right side. Any clues to what is going on here?

I missed it, exactly what are you referring to and what is the build version of Windoze you have?

You could try to rebuild the Windows 10 icon cache.

Thanks for replying. After literally weeks of trying different things I gave up and reset Windows 10. Fixed the issue.

Sometimes, with Windows, in the end that is all you can do. However, as a bonus, it'll be a lot faster without all the built up garbage clogging the works.

If it ever happens again and you want to try retain your setup, you can try a Win10 repair upgrade before before you go to the final extreme of the reset option.

Thanks I will keep that in mind. It's never fun reloading all of the software.
