Windows 7 Taskbar Thumbnail/FS Preview

I'm enjoying the "live" thumbnail preview on the Win7 taskbar (with Aero enabled) - however I'd like to change the behaviour slightly if possible.

Right now (default) you can hover over the taskbar icon and you get a live thumbnail preview. If you mouse-over the thumbnail, you get a full-window preview. Then you need to actually CLICK it to switch to that window.

I would like to know if it's possible to negate the requirement for that CLICK. i.e. by mousing-over the thumbnail, cause Windows to switch to that window, so I simply need to mouse up (into the desktop area) and start using the app in that window.

Any ideas?

I would think that would be a PITA...what if you accidentally ran your mouse over your task bar with a few things open...then all of a sudden they all pop up? Im wondering for curiosity's sake why you would want to do this?

I don't want the app to pop up if I run my mouse over the task bar; only if I run the mouse over the live thumbnail preview which pops "upward" from the taskbar. And perhaps there should be a 100-200ms delay to prevent accidental popups, sure.

The thing is, when you mouse-over a thumbnail as it is, you get a full-screen preview/"peek" of the window in question. Personally, to me it feels like that window has already been switched to and my instinct tells me to move my mouse pointer up (into the window) and start using the app. But of course, I move the mouse pointer up and the window disappears, and it goes back to whatever was on the desktop previously.

I hope I'm being clear...

Ah I see what youre saying. It seems to me you have to leave your cursor over the taskbar to get peek to pop up. That said, I know you cant disable thumbnail peek, so I dont think theres a way to do what youre asking. Perhaps after more people have had time to go through the registry and find something, but as of now, I dont think so.
