Windows 7 Slipstream?

I want to do a fresh install of Windows 7. I have my Windows 7 Pro SP1 disc. But the thought of having to reinstall all the updates since SP1 is making me queasy.
I've been told that 7 isn't easy to slipstream for some reason. Can someone point me to a tutorial that makes the process easy to follow?
Thank you.

Copy your Windows/SoftwareDistribution/Download folder onto a thumb drive. Then put everything inside into that same folder on your new install. Then it will only take 20 minutes to install the updates. If you have a sb and an ssd it will only take 5 minutes.
