Windows 7 session problem

I have a friend with a weird problem: Windows 7 boots without errors, but when you start a session, it closes inmediatly and sends you back to the login screen. Is there any way to solve this without having to reinstall Windows? There is only one session, so I cant log in as another user and remove the profile.
 
I know this is a bit late, but frankly that sounds like the work of malware. A reinstall is going to be easier in the long-run.
