Windows 7 Resume from sleep and acessing DVD/CD rom drives

Is there a way to prevent the DVD/CD Rom from spinning up when I wake my laptop from sleep mode? I keep a disc in the drive and it does this spin check every time I resume from sleep mode. Using Windows 7 x64.
