Windows 7 resolution problem

Don't laugh, but i'm running integrated Intel GMA 900 paired with a Dell 2005FPW. My native resolution is 1680x1050. It works fine in XP and is more than snappy enough for my needs.

However, I cannot for the life of me get windows 7 to go up to 1680x1050. Can anyone suggest a fix/resolution?

That sounds like a video driver issue to me, not sure. Win 7 can go to that resolution as I can tell you I am running at that res atm.

I have same problem too with Win7 beta and 9700 card,no 1680x1050 option, anyway if I find a fix will let you all know.

Are there Vista drivers for those video cards?

Win7 found 9700 driver via Windows Update.I'll wait for 9.1 drivers for Vista and try those.

hmm, I don't think i tried windows update. Anyone have any experience now that the beta is offically out?

For my laptop I found 4 drivers there, and that includes the Video driver. So yes, if you have not done a windows update do it now.

I have no 1920x1200 option for my fw900 monitor, even with the nvidia win7 drivers installed im still limited to 1600x1200.

I was using 1680x1050 option when I had XP on this PC so I know it works with XP,I removed XP and installed Win7 beta( pretty old pc so nothing to lose as they say).

I have the EXACT same problem. I'm using the BNC cable so Win7 doesn't read the EDID, but using the FW900 drivers has always worked for me in the past. So what's the problem now? Using the new 181.71 drivers from nvidia, and both the FW900(sony) and standard FW900 drivers that come with win 7. This is a big issue for me. The only way around it is to use powerstrip which is annoying as hell.
