I had a problem installing Win 7 64 bit originally on my IP35 Pro. the problem was rectified when I switched the DVD drive. Can't remember what the exact drive issue was but I switched drives and it worked fine.

Stevem's post just reminded me. It could be nothing to do with the hard drives or RAID that causes the install to fail. Many win 7 installs go bad because of an incompatible piece of hardware. Unplug all usb devices and add in cards. Just do the basics cpu, ram, gpu, hd etc. Then install.

jmicron is only used for the external e-sata connectors from what i understood. the other piece of hardware i have is the microsoft usb bluetooth mouse which works of the shelf. seeing how most users do not have a problem I can only assume is a problem with the raid. nice suggestion, I will download intel latest 64bit drivers for raid and add during the installation that could make things much better.

Sorry to resurrect the post, but I'm having a similar issue (although a have a plain IP35 - Not the IP35-E, just IP35).

If I enable AHCI in the BIOS (or RAID), the installation says it cannot install on the hard drive. I tried to download "F6" drivers from Intel, no luck. Just being clear, it's Win7 x64.

Going back to IDE mode I suppose... any major drawbacks doing this (I am coming from XP)

Resurrecting an old thread but is there a fan control program that works with this motherboard? I tried speedfan but it does not recognize the ports I have the fans plugged in to. I can't put them any other place either. I should say it recognizes the speed but does not put it into the speed category to control.
